Did cavemen ever really BONK cavewomen on the head and drag them away by their hair? Or is that just

You've seen this scene depicted in cartoons and movies...the woman is not cooperating so caveman knocks her out with his club and drags her away by the hair to have his evil way with her, or whatever. Did that ever really happen? How do we know it did? Were there pictures of this drawn on caveman walls? Did cavemen think this was funny? Like schoolboys writing on bathroom walls about the girl they like or hate so they make fun of her with pictures or abusive rhymes?

What did cavewomen do to deserve this treatment? Not shut up? Confuse the caveman with a superior idea on perhaps how to invent the wheel? I know when I'm trying to fix or do something that requires my full attention and there is a woman harping at me or playing smarty pants with their dumb idea on how to do it better or differntly...I start to understand that caveman urge to just BONK 'EM! (Of course I don't...I'm just making light of this common situation).

What proof is there for bonking in prehistoric times?

I doubt the stereotypical club to the head was really used. First off it likely would have killed the woman. I think it is just an attempt to show early courtship rituals as simplistic and comedic.

I reality I don't doubt there was a fair amount of forced affections, but sadly that's still true today.

No proof, just what one may imagine from the mind of a cavemen...I recommend not trying this today... ;-)

yes its true --some men still practice that tradition today

I reckon its just trying to show their primitive ways.

Of course their isn't proof of **** that happend in pre-historic times, that is the definition of the word, prior to recorded history. "Cavemen" were basically smart apes so they probablly had similar mating habits, bonking on the head not being one of them.

I would save future dumb questions with seinfeld-esque self answers for your stand up routine

You watch too many cartoons. Grow up.

According to TV, a slightly more authentic source than, say, the Sunday funnies, a caveman's preferred method of wooing is working in a retail store and charming her pants off with his impressive beard and sloping forehead.

It might not always work, but at least she gets a good insurance rate.
