How do I convince my mom to let me switch hair salons?

The salon I currently go to is horrible and has never given me a haircut thats ive liked. Its $40 for a cut, but i hate it. My mom LOVES it though and says it give me "Great haircuts!" and says that its a really good salon and wont listen to me when I say i dont like it. at all. The haircuts they give me never look anything like the picture and look stupid.

My friend told me about this other salon she goes to, which specializes in kind of creative/alternative cuts. Thats the kind of cuts I like, the kind of choppy/scene ones. She says they do a really good job. Its $65 for a cut though, but I told my mom i'd pay for $25 of it. She wont agree.

Shes says its too expensive and that the salon I already go to gives me amazing haircuts, when they really dont. Shes somehow convinced that the salon I wanna go to is going to do my hair horribly when she hasnt even been there or anything. She refuses to listen to me. I cant live with ANOTHER bad haircut. What should I do to convince her?

Well unfortunately a salon won't touch you without mom's permission if you are under 16 usually and that pretty much covers any state. So, I can only suggest that you show your mom a picture of what you want before you go to the salon and give them another chance. With mom in your corner the salon should do what YOU want. Without mom in your corner they will do what mom wants. This is more a communication problem or a parental thing with you and your mom. Maybe your friend's mom could talk to her. Please also realize that the price you pay for a haircut does in no way reflect the kind of cut you will get. I have paid from $5-25 and always had good and bad cuts depending on the stylist. I have also worked as a hairstylist for many different places that charged from $7 to $35 a cut and my skills didn't change because of the place I worked. I am an awesome stylist no matter where I go because I refuse to put less than 110% in my work.

i can understand both point of veiws. It sure is expensive but here is the way to convince her. Tell her that u dont get your haircut veary often and the haircut that u want needs to be good quality if your goning to keep it 4 a while. explain to here how the ones u got there were not good quality. Good luck!!!

well, you have 2 say to her...please hear me out..

and u gotta just tell her that its your hair and u dont feel comfortable and confident with the style your getting. say to her, imagine if her mum was making her go 2 a salon giving her (and then say a haircut she would hate)

however much the old salon costs, pay the extra so e.g. the salon u go to at the moment costs you..$20...then pay $45

its a lot, but in her point of view its only fair to pay the same amount

show her some piks of what u want done
