Ask for layered bangs. Or find a picture of a haircut you'd like on yourself. Print it out and bring it to show your hair stylist.

get short layers at the top that frame your face and long choppy ones at the bottom. it's kinda unique even though a lot of people have it but it's still a cool hairstyle.

well if you are trying to grow it out, then maybe you shouldn't get an entire hair cut... i mean, maybe just get like a chop-trim, where the stylist can make little chops at the ends of your hair to give it kind of an uneven, choppy scene cut... but i'd focus on your bangs. if you don't have them yet, get them. :) there are two types that work on pretty much anybody: the side-swept slant-cut bangs, and the bowl-cut bangs (like tegan and sara bangs...).

but whatever tickles your pickle! :D

have fun with it.
