and i have meduim length hair and i don't want to make it any shorter

To make a emo/scene haircut is very simple. If you don't want shorter hair just have the stylist create sharp layers around your face. They don't have to be like a layer by you eyebrows, one by your nose, and on. Just long sharp layers cut at the edge. Also side-swept bangs that partially cover one of your eyes is very emo/scene looking. Also if you are into dying your hair color, black with bright blonde streaks, or just bright blonde is also a good way to go.

well you could always dye it a different color and use extensions if you dont want to make it any shorter. but if you do want to make it shorter, you could cut it and get layers, and bangs, that would look really cool. :]
